She’s the sunshine to his storm cloud Stoic, growly Evan Bailey has enough on his plate. A growing business, a pack of brothers who drive him crazy, a gossip-loving small town, and a rivalry that runs deeper than any family feud. Love? That’s a hard pass. He already learned the hard way that he’s better off alone. Fiona Gallagher has a problem. Or more like ten, but who’s counting? The trouble with her car is just the cherry on top of the crap sundae, but she won’t let that get her down. Besides, she has a plan. Evan Bailey—that brooding custom car builder who happens to hate her father—is going to help her. He just doesn’t know it yet. The last thing Evan needs is the overly cheery Fiona crashing into his solitary life. But her offer is too compelling to ignore. Fiona isn’t there to pick through the wreckage of Evan’s heart. If he has one, he won’t let her anywhere near it. But the tension between them is hot enough to combust. And when she starts to see the cracks in his stony facade, she realizes she’s getting more than she bargained for—a lot more—in that big surly man. Author’s Note: A grouchy, broody loner meets an adorable badass (who talks to her houseplants). It’s the grumpy one is soft for the sunshine one with some engine-revving twists. Have a fan ready—you’re in for a Kindle-melting ride.

✮ About The Proposal ✮

When I envisioned Zara Logan dropping to her knees in front of me, this wasn’t what I had in mind...

I was expecting a lot less glaring and a lot more moaning.

Instead, she's proposing an enticing deal that I can't bear to walk away from.

To land one of the city’s biggest clients, she wants us to put our differences aside and play fake fiancés for the next thirty days.

So, I slip the diamond ring onto her finger and agree to play the perfect fiancé. How hard can this be?

A hell of a lot harder than I thought...

She’s infuriatingly stubborn and she thinks I’m a cocky jerk with an enormous ego. (She’s right, but I can definitely back it up...)

As our long days stretch into even later nights, it’s getting harder to remember we’re only playing pretend, which means one thing.

She won’t be faking it for long…

The Proposal is a brand-new series from Maya Hughes. Get ready for a fun, fake fiancé romance to kick off the SWANK series.

✮ Excerpt From The Proposal ✮

“You want me to propose to you?” With muscles tense and tight, she stared at me before crossing the room to me in two strides.

“It’ll make a wonderful story to tell if anyone asks. Or we can call the whole thing off and confess, but you’re the one who led us down this path with the relationship talk. Kathleen would probably kick us off the project. Or maybe just you.”

Her gaze narrowed. “Just when I think you’re not a complete asshole. Fine.” The word shot out like a nail gun. Covering her mouth, she mumbled into her hand. “Will you pretend to be my fake fiancé for the next thirty days?”

I cupped my hand around my ear. “That wasn’t exactly romantic and you’re not even on bended knee. Boyz II Men would be disappointed.” I dangled the ring in front of her.

She squeezed her forehead and snatched it out of my hand.

I braced myself for her to fling it straight into my face, but she didn’t. Hiking up the skirt of her suit an inch, she lowered herself to the floor with her gaze trained on mine. The intensity of her emerald gaze sent my blood thrumming through my veins. Her thick eyelashes framed her eyes and the ill wishes she was trying to sear into my brain.

But damn if her sinking to her knees in front of me didn’t flash me into a whole different set of circumstances with her where she wasn’t wishing me dead and I wasn’t trying to steal this project out from under her.

“Leo Charles Wilder, will you please agree to be my fake fiancé for the next thirty days and make me the most miserable woman on earth?” She held out the ring in her palm.

I tapped my finger against my lips and stared up at the ceiling. “When you put it like that…”

Time to release your fears: Review of The Fear of Falling by B. Cranford

The only thing with more twists and turn than a roller coaster is love…

Title: The Fear of Falling
Author: B. Cranford
Release Date: July 13, 2020

Everyone knows love is a battlefield. For Lenny Johnstone, it’s more like a challenge.

Actually, everything is kind of a challenge for her. In comparison to her stunning—yet flighty—twin sister, Lenny’s awkwardly tall, painfully shy, and not so good at putting herself out there. Which is why she’s decided it’s high time she faced her demons. Starting with the one thing that’s always terrified her most: roller coasters.

Meeting a man was not on her summer to-do list. Falling for the tall, dark, and handsome stranger who wants to help her overcome her fears wasn’t either.

But Lenny’s about to learn that the only thing with more twists and turns than a roller coaster is love.

Please note: The Fear of Falling was originally released as a short story via the Read Me Romance Podcast, and has been extended into a novella-length book.

Only #99c or #FREE with Kindle Unlimited

Looking for a standalone to devour as the kids are occupied and you have blessed moments of peace? Look no further than B. Cranford's latest release.

Sometimes you are looking for a story that just makes you feel good. You love the characters and there is nothing to 'fix'.  Well, okay yes. Lenny has some anxieties. And she has a bucket list to help conquer them. What she doesn't imagine is meeting Rowan to help conquer her fears.

The story line flows naturally and you can't help loving the interaction between two opposites find each other. Rowan is the perfect man - sweet, understanding and patient.

If you need some happy smiles and make your heart flutter, check out The Fear of Falling.

B. Cranford is a proud Australian living in the USA, a lover of books, breadsticks and bed, and the mother of two children who are far too similar to their father for her liking. A lifelong reader, she dove into the romance genre on the recommendation of her best friend and hasn’t looked back since. Her debut novel, The Brightest Star, a second chance romance with (she hopes) heart and humor was released on July 13, 2017, which just so happened to be her birthday. Because if you release a book on your birthday, you get twice as much cake, and that can only be a good thing.

Please feel free to contact Beth via email or to stalk her through her various social media sites, where she can be found procrastinating, playing games, sharing memes and just generally wasting time.

Review: No Reservations

No Reservations No Reservations by Stephanie Rose
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

I am a sucker for second chances and Stephanie Rose's writing.

First - the elephant. Yes, some are calling it book 2 but it's a book in a world that's not dependent on book 1. So you can dive in here first, then go to book 1 or the other way. EITHER way, you are going to love the hell out of this story.

Now, this is not my typical second chance. Oh, there is angst here that keeps them apart. But rather than it being a misunderstanding or some other pull apart, the Hero, Dominic, is the one to break them. (chill pill, not a cheating book) Dominic loves his family deeply and yet when he suffers a loss, he has no idea how to cope. He does what most do - he turns onto himself and doesn't reach out to the one who could lift him. It was truly heartbreaking to watch this man suffer.

Thea also suffers the loss. Not only does she lose Dominic, but she also loses his family. So there is heartbreak abounds.

Now, close your mouth. You are thinking, "Karen this sounds super angsty and something you run from." And you would be normally correct. However, I trust this author not to dump out the drama like a 20 oz bag of Skittles for no reason either. The heartbreak is necessary. Like the blood in their hearts. To suffer a loss and then deal with grief, everyone has a journey and this is theirs.

So this book is how do they come back from this? You know its solely HEA happy town for me so they do. But seeing them come together like adults, healing and understanding were beautiful, breathtaking in the heartache and romance of their second chance.

I loved this story and if you are a fan of second chance trope, this novel is not to be missed as a beautiful story told.
