Passion and Suspense All Bottled Up - Release Tour & Review of Perfume Girl by Vanessa Fewings

Title: Perfume Girl
Author: Vanessa Fewings
Genre:Erotic Romance/Contemporary Romance
Release Date: November 27th
Cover Designer: Najla Qamber (Najla Qamber Designs)

True passion can't be bottled.
A stolen formula. A seductive suspect. A dangerous romance.
Raquel Wren’s world has fallen apart. Her husband has divorced her. Close friends have abandoned her. The money has run out. The pieces of a once idyllic life have completely crumbled. And now, the only thing that can save Raquel from total ruin…
...has been stolen.
Raquel is the owner of the small town boutique store Perfume Girl, a quaint location offering bottled scents from around the globe, including her own personal formulas. Creating perfume has been a passion since she was a little girl, but her latest work, a scent years in the making, is her masterpiece. The one that will make her mark on the industry and save her life in the process.
But now it’s gone. Stolen right from her shop. All would be lost if Raquel didn’t feel she knew who was behind the theft. Devastated to her core, she decides to do something about it.
Astor Beauregard is the sexy, enigmatic owner of House of Beauregard, the renowned cologne empire based in the notorious city of South Beach, Miami. It’s within this luxurious kingdom that Raquel will delve to unravel the mystery of the crime, a path that will lead her directly to Astor, sparking an unforgettable passion while uncovering a shocking truth.
It’s on the famous, sun-soaked, salsa-fueled streets of South Beach that USA Today Bestselling Author Vanessa Fewings releases PERFUME GIRL, a heart-racing romance novel that will have readers feeling the heat like never before.
In this new STAND-ALONE novel, a fiery romance is ignited, one that will burn its way to a stunning revelation.

You know when you crack open the pages of a Vanessa Fewings story you are going to see sizzle off the page. Astor and Raquel do not disappoint as their story is unraveled before your eyes. At first, you may think this is a typical bait and switch where the heroine will win at the end of the day by turning the bad boy around.

Or does she?

Ms Fewings weaves the story of suspense mixed in with an unexpected story with characters resisting the pull. Both characters are wary of the other, unsure if they can fully trust the other.  Astor and Raquel sense the secrets. Vanessa Fewings keeps the story with just enough twist to engage the reader to want to 'what happens next.' The secondary characters are just as intriguing as you wander through the story. Oh and the door closes - Oh my - Whew. Be prepared to fan yourself *ALOT* once Astor decided Raquel is what he wants.

It's hard to write a review without spoiling the story. Ms Fewings crafts the story with visuals and words you can just imagine the sights and sounds as Raquel tries to recover her lost formula. Will you take a chance and help her in the hunt? It is a perfect standalone to get lost in the ride. It has an outcome I didn't see coming...and enjoyed every turn of the page.

Recommend you BUY and read tonight! 5 out of 5 stars.

Read for #FREE on Kindle Unlimited

Review:

Once again Kindle Alexander has blown me away with a story that from the start you feel the connection leap off the page.  Before we dive much further into the story  - know this is not a motorcycle club trope read. Yeah, yeah, there is a club but its not the foreground story. For me, this story was a tried and true opposites attract romance and I LOVED IT

Alec presents as the cocky, rich attorney. Everything in place and perfect. He has the perfect car, perfect house, perfect hair but not the perfect love life. He is in a position of media exposure. It's not the perfect set up to attract a lover especially when you like the bad boys.

Keyes presents as the gruff, closed off mechanic. His life is full of hard work, grease and his 'family'. He is in a position where he just needs to keep his head down, hands clean to make his life better. It's not the perfect set up to attract a lover especially when you feel like there is no room.

But as Kindle Alexander unveils the layers to these characters you learn there is so much more to them. They offer up their soft bellies of vulnerability you cannot help but fall in love with. They have that 'instalove' attraction I am a sucker for but can't stay away from because how-can-two-guys-from-opposite-sides-of-the-tracks-work? This is a story of opposites finding a way to find their piece of heaven in each other. I loved learning each piece of what made the characters tick and how they unveiled their relationship fears to the other. Both characters are surprising because you anticipate one 'type' and Ms. Alexander delivers something different. But perfect. I think that most readers will click on the story expecting maybe a typical crime and suspense - they will be happily surprised. The story is beyond what their life roles define them as. There is secondary storylines that are impactful but Kindle Alexander guides the path so the reader gets a better understanding of who they are and who they would love to be. This story flowed perfectly for a day to read it in one sitting.

This title is part of series however Havoc does end on a HFN to be read as a standalone. But if you are like me, you know there is way - WAY - more to their story to come.

--- And I can't wait!

Ho Ho HO - It Holiday Romance Season and what a way to start!

Would a man that didn't believe in romance inspire my greatest love story or leave me with unfinished chapters?

Title: A Novel Christmas
Author: Lynsey M. Stewart
Release Date: November 16, 2018

Go to an island, my publisher said. Reclaim your writing mojo, he added. Be inspired, he suggested. Oh, sexy shenanigans, was I inspired. Drew Carolla would do that to a woman. Reclusive and brooding, an ex-pilot-come-sexy-woodcutter-come-luxury-wedding-venue-owner-come…here.

Writing romance doesn’t come easy when you don’t have a muse, and I was on a deadline. Four weeks to write my next bestseller or face being dropped by my publisher. Thankfully, watching Drew chop wood, sweaty and shirtless, soon had the words flowing like water through Cornish coastline rock pools.

But Drew had his own stories to tell. Why did his luxury wedding venue no longer host weddings? Why did he scoff at the idea of romance? And why, despite that, did he look at me like he wanted to wake up on Christmas morning and find me naked in his bed?

Conundrums. Drew was full of them. Too bad I wasn’t writing psychological thrillers.

Would Drew Carolla, a man who didn’t believe in romance, inspire my greatest love story or leave me with unfinished chapters?

I had set the alarm for 7:30 am. I wanted to get a good start on outlining and possibly write some words that involved more than just planning sexytime scenes. I jumped in the shower, dried off my hair and put on some make-up before changing into a pair of comfy black trousers and a slouchy sweater. Perfect writing uniform. The fire had stopped burning during the night and it was colder than an igloo on the North Pole. I put more wood on the burner before I went to bed, unsure of what to do to keep the cottage warm for the morning. It hadn’t worked. I made a note to ask Drew how to stop chilblains from forming on my feet. It was a typical December day. Grey skies, a chilly wind. Freezing. I made myself a cup of tea and found myself humming, ‘It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas’ as I fired up the laptop and opened the curtains.

Drew had told me the previous night that the view was amazing. I’d been looking forward to seeing it in the light this morning as I knew this was going to be my writing spot for the next month. I looked across the fields rolling along the skyline. The tops of the barns were poking through, and as my eyes dropped, I saw Drew, his flannel shirt unbuttoned to the navel…swinging an axe.

Ping! A decision was made.

My male lead came to me in the swing of an axe. He was going to be a shirtless woodcutter, strong and muscular. Robust and fit. Looking after the land. Alpha-male dominance. Romance trope heaven.

‘Holy mother of fudge,’ I said as I blew away the steam from my tea. It misted up my reading glasses and I smudged my finger over them like a windscreen wiper. He looked up like he’d heard me, wiped his arm across his head, slow-motion style and still glistening from the man sweat of good honest hard work. He waved before cutting a block of wood like it was as natural to him as giving out a smouldering look.

Here we are at the end of release day. I've just finished the last work of Before Girl. I am left with this feeling. This feeling that I want to turn back the hands of the clock so I can experience the words of a master storyteller all over again. A-lass my Tardis is broken so dear follower, you'll have to be subject to my ramblings.

Let's get this silliness out of the way. I love the story. It's another 5 star read rating. I strongly encourage you to get to clicking. However, you are here and seem to appreciate what I have to say.  Let's discuss: Stella and her ManBrick.

To give you a historical account, my beloved book pimp introduced me to all things Walshery once I agreed to succumb to their world.  To have such a guide was a blessing. See, she gave me a whole bunch of links to deleted scenes, extras and some little story of a manbrick. Then apparently, as occurs at times with writers, the characters wouldn't let this writer alone. She pulled the story and began to polish their rough edges and gave us this - Before Girl.

Again the story delivers on reality of love, romance and not giving up. Cal doesn't have it in his DNA. He is a brilliant in his field, built his career, and although not actively pursuing, seems to have found 'The One' on the shores of a pond. This is truly an 'instaspark' for Cal that grows and grows. How he keeps this deep-seeded, head-over-heels under wraps is deserving of a man on a mission for the long game. Because Stella, well, she's happy with the status quo.  Her life, her career, her family are in a tight organized bundle under Cal literally pushes her out of her cocoon. She frustrates Cal with her resistance at the possibility of more. But to build something solid takes time and dedication. We see Stella as the polished professional with being a messy bag of emotions inside. As humans, we want to find our 'Cal' the one that sees us and lets us be us. Watching Stella evolve and change under Cal's unwavering devotion is a beautiful and enchanting read.

Now, let's discuss the whole: Do I have to read the whole series? Can this be a standalone? Will I be confused if I'm not familiar with the Walsh world? Yes, yes and no.  Goodness that first yes pained me being the series police. Yes, these are secondary characters in the Walsh world. Yes, there may be a Walsh sighting. But in all seriousness - it's a no on the series. However if you have been considering do I dive into this seven book series, this is a good introduction that will turn into you reading the series. But if you'd like to put up a good resistance, read this first.

This is a story that will make you believe in 'the one' isn't always the first one on your dance card. Sometimes we need to grow and experience all the things as an adult to find the perfect happily ever after we deserve. Don't wait. Go click this romance story and devour it's goodness.

5 out of 5 stars.

Torment, Mostly | The Ass(et)

Kate Canterbary doesn’t have it all figured out, but this is what she knows for sure: spicy-ass salsa and tequila solve most problems, living on the ocean–Pacific or Atlantic–is the closest place to perfection, and writing smart, smutty stories is a better than any amount of chocolate. She started out reporting for an indie arts and entertainment newspaper back when people still read newspapers, and she has been writing and surreptitiously interviewing people—be careful sitting down next to her on an airplane—ever since.

Kate lives on the water in New England with Mr. Canterbary and the Little Baby Canterbary, and when she isn’t writing sexy architects, she’s scheduling her days around the region’s best food trucks.
