BLURB

Dear Letter Girl, I need to see you. When can we meet?

Her response never came. My secret pen pal with a dirty mind has ghosted me. I've roped Jules, my sweet as pie next door neighbor, to help me track her down.

There's only one problem—I'm falling for her. The tortoise shell glasses, out of this world curves and delicious treats are making the search for The Letter Girl even harder.

My notes were supposed to be a one time thing. A little too much wine and naughty thoughts on a winter's night. I never thought Berk would write back. I wanted to tell him it was me, but the fear of rejection kept my lips sealed.

Now he’s enlisted my help to track down The Letter Girl and our search has him hot on my, ahem, her trail.

She's the girl next door.

He's my secret pen pal.

Truth is on a collision course with their hearts and it’s only a matter of time before one of them gets wrecked...

Berk, Berk, Berk...
I would like you not to be so stupid ass wonderful.
You know how book boyfriends are blamed for ruining real-life chances with a potential mate. Let me give you exhibit A: Berkley Vaughn.

Seriously, he made me melt.

I mean he wasn't without faults. But even in his faults, you see through his vulnerability and just...
He deserves a HEA.

Jules, Jules, Jules...
You are every girl. You are the heroine we can connect with on any level. Through her faults - either real or perceived, the reader can connect with her feelings and thoughts.

MY GOD MAYA HUGHES... This is one of my favorite books EVER!

If you follow my reviews, you know. I yammer on about 'connecting with characters', 'understanding motivations', yada yada. It's important to me as a reader. Besides the fact I want to fall headfirst into a story that keeps me engaged and entertained, I want to connect in some way. Jules and Berk do just that.

Although it's been a while since my college days, you can relate to the cusp of leaving this world you feel comfortable in. But there are things set aside you need to deal with to grow up.  Berk and Jules both have their hurdles to fly over. And what better way than in the arms of someone who gets you.

Maya Hughes' story weaves you in and sets you as an observer to a couple of friends you just want to push together. Because they are just the right amount of perfect for one another. Readers are hopeful and earnest that they find their HEA with each other. The pages magically turned and before you know it you reached the end.
Hopeful, happy and satisfied.

I have loved all the stories in the Fulton University series. You love seeing the connection and friendships bloom along with the love stories.  You want to read them in order and read them you should.

Recommendation: Buy them all. But you'll fall the hardest for Berk and Jules.

Five Plus Stars from me!

AUTHOR BIO

Maya Hughes can often be found sneaking in another chapter while hiding in the bathroom from her kids! :-) I’m a romance writer who loves taking inspiration from everyday life, namely my husband and biggest fan. Inspiration also strikes when I hear a song, meet someone new or daydream while at soccer practice.

I’m the mom of three little ones, the wife to an amazing husband and also work full time. Some of my favorite things are cinnamon rolls, white wine, laughing until I can’t breathe and traveling with my family.

Review: The Scarlet Night

The Scarlet Night The Scarlet Night by Nicole French
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Oh, I hate to admit - this is my first Nicole French book. Although I've loved her covers and blurbs, I never took the chance to once click them. Oh, that was an oversight.

I learned about this new series through a LIVE video she did on Facebook in The Korner. I am going, to be honest - the premise is not one of my 'go-tos'. But listening to Nicole speak - about both the hero and heroine had me completely intrigued.

Zola is suave. He is cocky and he is definitely a one-night stand man. Nina isn't looking for a hookup more of an escape. After a few hours in the bar, they decide to crash into the headlong triste that you knew was inevitable from the sizzle. The next morning leaves Zola and the reader wanting more.

This is one of those naughty escape novellas where you get this glimpse into the characters. Satisfied but extremely curious about what is going to happen in this duet. If you are leery about the trope, give the novella a chance to see if you too are curious on what mystery awaits these star crossed lovers.

Recommendation - click it for free. You may find you also love her storytelling and want to check out her other titles.

4.5 out o f 5

Review: This Life I

This Life I This Life I by Cara Dee
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

This isn't your normal Cara Dee story. MM full of heart and hope. Grabs you right in the feels.
Nope it's a MF crime story, with fake relationship, two people who are going to f*ck each other over at first chances, annnnnddd they are both virgins.

Yeah, Yeah, count me in on this one.

Explaining what I loved about this story is like explaining to people why you are watching reality TV in earnest. It's a big train wreck. Over the top characters. You laugh at completely inappropriate times. And yet you want more. Seriously this is Finn and Emilia's story. Finn is not the perfect mobster with a heart of gold type. Oh no. He is a murderer and a thief. He couldn't care less about doing the right thing. It's doing the thing that will earn him money, loyalty and power. I think that's why I fell in love with this character so far. Because he was so unapologetically an asshole. Then there is Emilia. She wants out. Out of her life, get a leg up. She knows 'trying hard' and you'll get the brass ring isn't going to work out for this girl. So damn straight she takes up Finn's offer.

But when they are together - as much as they loathe the other - there is undeniable chemistry between them. You literally root for these two knuckheads to fall in love because they deserve it. This story has all the humor, sexy times and flying bullets you could imagine from a crime/mafia romance story.

Cara has promised a series. And like any Cara book it's worth the wait. I ended the book immediately wanting II. I know when it comes, I'll be devouring these two all over again.
